Early Chanterelle Madness

Our September rains have brought forth an early bumper crop of chanterelle mushrooms. To find chanterelles, look in dense, old growth evergreen forests. Mossy forest floors are usually a good indicator of decent chanterelle habitat.

Chanterelles can often be found right off the side of the road. Chanterelles like thick, undisturbed forests. The best hunting is often found where just enough light and warmth is allowed to dapple through the trees.

Plenty of chanterelles are to be found if you know where to look.
