Truffles: The Most Expensive Food in the World
I've been working on developing relationships with members of the Oregon and Washington truffle community. I am hoping to attend a seminar this Spring in Seattle with many truffle experts. The season for Oregon white truffles is now ending and was reportedly spotty at best this year. Extended below freezing temperatures in the foothills of the western Cascades put a damper on this years crop. Truffles have been reported to fruit anywhere in the western Cascades stretching from British Columbia down to Northern California. The season for truffles in these areas is generally from November through early February.
